Martha Ann (Bradbury) Stoner, 93, Greenfield, passed into the arms of her heavenly father on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, as her family stood close by her side. Martha was born on November 5, 1931, in Dayton, OH, to Glen H. and Ludie (Britt) Bradbury. Martha married the love of her life, William Daniel Stoner, on August 15, 1954.
As Bill and Martha started their family, Martha's desire was to stay at home to raise their 5 children, see them grow and succeed, and be a homemaker. As a large family, having a summer seasonal pool pass was like gold, and the children had countless hours of fun. They vacationed nearly every summer with the kids and grandma in the RV to regional destinations making lots of memories with the family. Christmas and summer gatherings were always special with many nieces, nephews, and cousins celebrating. Martha and Bill often traveled and took many trips to Alaska, Hawaii, California, Oregon, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Martha enjoyed vegetable canning, bowling, flower gardening, her pet dogs, and listening to Lawrence Welk. She was a member of the Flower Club, the Garden Club, and the Homemakers Guild, all of Greenfield and Hancock County. Martha was also a strong advocate for the Mental Health Partners of Hancock County. She could often be found as a volunteer with the Democratic Hancock County polling location. She relished her duties as a tour guide for the James Whitcomb Riley house and museum. She, Bill, and the kids attended Bradley United Methodist Church for many years.
Martha is survived by her loving husband Bill of 70 years; their children: LuAnn (Scott) Kramer, Sheree (Steve) Hamilton, Judy Stoner, Jeff (Mary) Stoner, and Sonya (Mark) Kramer; 11 special grandchildren; 7 awesome + 2 on-the-way great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Johnny Bradbury, Harold Bradbury, and Louise Edwards.
