Martha M Simonsen

Martha M. Simonsen, age 83, of Greenfield passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Hancock Health. She was born July 3, 1936 in Lapel, Indiana to the late Virgil O. and Mary Esther (Williamson) Michael. Martha graduated from Lapel High School. She retired in 2001 from SMC Pneumatics in Indianapolis. She was active in the Hancock Hospice Grief Group, loved being with her friends & going out to eat. She was what you might call a "Social Butterfly". She also enjoyed cooking and keeping flowers in the Summer. But more than any of this, she enjoyed spending time with her family whom, she loved very much. Martha is survived by her children, David Hammonds, Gregory Hammonds and Patricia Jones; grandchildren, Zachary Hammonds, Austin DeWitt & Bryce Jones, as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Martha is proceeded in death by her parents Virgil & Mary; fiancée Bill Tumilty in 2016 and 5 brothers & sisters. Friends may call Wednesday February 26, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral Service will be Thursday February 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Katherine Murray officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Martha's name be made to Hancock Regional/Suburban Hospice 801 N State St, Greenfield, IN 46140.
