Marthalou Wooten, age 88 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Morristown Manor in Shelby County. She was born on July 19, 1928 in Martinsville, IN to the late Kenneth & Faye (Fulford) Bennett.
Marthalou graduated from Charlottesville High School and spent her life as a homemaker raising her family whom she loved dearly, as well as Indiana Gas Co. & Kroger. She married the love of her life Lowell R. Wooten on February 18, 1949. Marthalou was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority; Art Club; USFW Friends Church; Greenfield Friends Church, where she spent over 50 years as a Sunday school teacher, and was an avid card player.
Surviving Marthalou is her son, Ty (Keri) Wooten of Indianapolis; daughters, Naomi Lyman of Bloomington; Nancy Wooten of Greenfield; Lou Ann Miller of Morristown; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Marthalou in death are her parents listed above; husband, Lowell Wooten; son, John Wooten; brothers, Robert; Fieldon; Merl; and Ronald Bennett; sisters, Betty Stewart; Naomi Bennett; Juanita Bullard; and Merlene Potts.
Friends may visit from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Philadelphia.
