Martin Patrick "Pat" McGill, age 74, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center following complications from heart surgery.

Pat was born on May 8, 1951, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Jack and Peg McGill. He graduated from Shrine High School in 1969, attended Michigan State University, and then went to work for Michigan Bell. Pat held a number of positions over the years throughout the states of Michigan and Indiana, where he made many, many friends. He retired from AT&T in 2007.

Pat is survived by Cristi, his wife of 25 years; his sons Scott McGill (Candy) of Lake Orion, MI, Matt McGill (Lindsey) of Grand Blanc, MI; stepsons Mark Tunny (Jennifer) of Indianapolis, IN, Dana Tunny of New Palestine, IN; stepdaughter Katie Hadley (Michael) of Greenwood, IN; seven grandchildren: Kendall, Holden, Eleanor, Myles, Lainey, Layla, Cole; brothers and sisters, Mike McGill (Jennifer), Maureen Marcus (Jim), Maggie Shafer (Frank), John McGill (Tina); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and of course his dogs. (Especially Owen.)

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruthann, and his sweet sister Mary.

Pat will be remembered for his kind smile, his woodworking skills, his passionate political views, his devotion to the Detroit Lions (who managed to disappoint him year after year), his fondness for his adopted hometown team, the Indiana Pacers (so close!), and the incredible love he had for his sons, stepchildren, grandchildren, and for his extended family. He will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2-4 pm, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Pat's name to the donor's favorite charity.
