Mary Elizabeth Carmichael November 17, 1919 - February 22, 2011
Mary Elizabeth Carmichael, 91, a lifelong resident of Hancock County, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital.
She was born November 17, 1919 in Wilkinson to the late Clarence and Luella (Simmons) Allender.
Mary was a graduate of Charlottesville High School and attended Indiana Business College. She worked for Greenfield Banking Company, was a homemaker and attended Shiloh Christian Church. She loved farming, taking care of her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Burl (Georgia) Carmichael of Greenfield; daughter, Lois (David) Apple of Pewaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Ellen (Chris) Dean, Brian (Beth) Apple, Jason (Karen) Carmichael, Alissa Carmichael; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Long of Pompano Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Carmichael in 1997 and a sister, Alice Heifner.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
