Mary Fox

Mary L. Fox, age 90, of Freedom, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her loving family April 12, 2023 at

her residence. She was born November 12, 1932 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late Robert and Teresa

(Stapp) Cox. She was married to Norman Fox on May 25, 1949, and he survives.

Mary had a long career with Western Electric, retiring in 1985. She is remembered for her great

devotion to family and children. One of her greatest joys in life was feeding those she loved. She was an

accomplished cook and grew many of her own vegetables. Mary was often busy canning her home-

grown vegetables. She enjoyed mushroom-hunting and fishing. Mary loved all kinds of gardening, and

her lovely gardens created a beautiful setting for another hobby: birdwatching. She was also an avid

reader.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Norman; daughters, Carol (Fred) Flagle and Debra (Ray)

Flagle; son, Steve (Mary Jo) Fox; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great great grandson;

one great great granddaughter (on the way); and sisters, Jean Henderson and Bobbi Richey. She is

preceded in death by her parents, listed above; her son, Rick Fox; and brothers, Raybon Cox and Harold

Cox.

Services for Mary will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 6PM at Stillinger Family Funeral Home-Hendryx New Palestine Chapel 19 E. Main St New Palestine, IN 46163.  Friends may visit from 4PM until the time of service.
