Mary Jane (George) Miller

November 3, 1927 — August 29, 2024

An obituary wrote for Mary Jane Miller, by her loving family:

Mary Jane (George) Miller, 96, was born on November 3, 1927, in Chambersville, PA, to Jack and Jane (Bonacci) George. She was the second child with siblings, Frances, Betty, John, and Virginia. Her immediate family unit is deceased. Mary Jane bore three children: Jody Thomson (Ian Harrison), Mark Schmieder, and Kathy Mercuri (Tony). She graduated from Kane High School, Kane, PA, where she worked at her uncle's restaurant, Arcade.

She primarily resided in Indiana, PA, where she owned two restaurants, Downtowner and Colonial Inn. She moved to Greenfield, IN, in her 80s and thoroughly enjoyed making new friends.

We often joked that our mother lived a long, wonderful life because ate crushed red pepper with practically every meal! Mom loved to cook all of the Italian recipes passed down from her mother. Her great-grandchildren pre-ordered her meatballs and sauce prior to their vacation arrivals. She loved to collect and read cookbooks. Mary Jane never went to visit empty-handed. She was notably the most generous person we have known. If she discovered someone needed something, she would meet their needs. Mary Jane had a beautiful smile and a magnetic personality. She had impeccable taste and turned many heads throughout her life.

Mary Jane was adventurous always and in her 90s, she rode a Harley, drove a pontoon for 2 hours on a lake, visited Mexico and revisited Florida where she lived in Naples during the winter months for 18 years with her third husband, C. Blair Miller. Cars were her love. She always had 2 high-end ones and detailed them herself until she relinquished her keys at 90 years old. She played cards often and kept current in events. She was extremely fond of a dog named Crosby.

She had 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mom enjoyed her 4 years stay at Morristown Manor where she was loved by all and enjoyed doing all the activities.

There will not be any visitation nor service, but we will cherish our mother's recipes, memories, and smiles for many years to come. You may kindly leave an online condolence at www.stillingerfamily.com
