Mary Jane (Graddy) Evans

Mary Jane (Graddy) Evans, 69, Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was born on September 22, 1952, in Anderson, IN, to Wilburn O'Dell and Mary Margaret (West) Graddy. She attended and graduated from Clark College with a business degree. Mary worked at the Daily Reporter for 15 years. She then joined Hancock County Auditor's Office and was employed with them for nearly 25 years. She enjoyed dancing, reading, collecting jewelry and antiques, watching TV and movies, and playing on her iPad. She enjoyed listening to all types of music, especially songs by artists Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, and Les Twins. She loved dogs. Mary married Ronald M. Evans on December 8, 1984. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Evans; her children: Loren W. Lakes (Christina Haddin) and Dennis O. Lakes; step-children: Wes Evans, Josh Evans, and Ronda Badger; grandchildren: David Lakes, Briana Lakes, Jordan Badger, and Nisha Janay; great-granddaughter, Debney Lakes; siblings: Karen (John) Graddy Carter, Steven (Cassie) Graddy, and Marvin (Valerie) Graddy; and 3 dogs: Itsy, Chico, and Little Bit. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Connie Graddy Matteson and David Graddy. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Park Cemetery, Greenfield, officiated by Pastor David Huff.
