Mary S Gregory

Mary S. Gregory July 15, 1918 - September 25, 2013 Mary Grace Sutherland Gregory, 95, Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully September 25, 2013. She was born July 15, 1918 in Todds Point, Kentucky, the sixth of nine children born to James Hezikiah and Stella Mae (Searcy) Sutherland. Mary graduated valedictorian of her high school class in Georgia and attended Murray State Teachers College in Murray, Kentucky, studying library science. Mary married Richard Parker Gregory, Jr. November 15, 1941 in Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, KY. They lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and Tennessee before settling in Greenfield, Indiana in August 1957 when Richard accepted a position at Eli Lilly & Co. Mary was a member of the Greenfield Christian Church. She was active in CWF, Tri Kappa, loved playing bridge, and will always be remembered for her quick wit. Mary is survived by her children, Mary Linn (Larry) Darlage, Richard P. (Kris) Gregory IV, Debra Gregory (Bob) Jenks and Timothy Sutherland (Mary) Gregory; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home Pasco Chapel 1780 West Main Street Greenfield, Indiana, 46140 with burial to follow at Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 27, and 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Mary's honor to the charity of your choice.
