Mary June (Lingenfelter) Runion

Mary June (Lingenfelter) Runion, 83, Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Westminster Village North, Lawrence. Mary was born on June 30, 1938, in Shelbyville, to Edgar Minnis and Minnie May (Theobald) Lingenfelter. She is a 1956 graduate of Greenfield High School. She married her love Nelson Dean Runion on January 19, 1957. Mary worked various positions at the Indiana State Highway Department for over 35 years. She retired in 2006. Mary was a member of Fountaintown Christian Church and then Shiloh Christian Church. She loved to sew and crochet, tend to her fruit, vegetable, and flower gardens, and take care of her home. She enjoyed riding horses in Brown County and formerly was a member of Shelby County Western Riders. Mary is survived by her loving sons, Rex Runion and Dwain Runion; grandchildren, John Runion and Rachel Runion; great-grandchildren, Jacob Runion, Madison Runion, and Taylor Wilkerson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nelson Dean Runion of 62 years; and siblings, Susie McCoy, Donna Wilhelm, and Bill Lingenfelter. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service starting at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Michael Smith. Burial will take place beside her husband in Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
