Mary Sharon Parks

Mary Sharon (Gilliatt) Parks passed away peacefully early May 10th surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Orange County, IN on September 8, 1943 to the late Herschell and Margie (Hollen) Gilliatt. She married the love of her life, Arthur Donovan Parks, on June 2, 1962. Mary graduated from Paoli High School in 1961. Mary and Arthur moved to Greenfield in 1974 to raise their family. Mary spent many years working outside the home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting ceramics, travelling, working on projects with her husband, participating in and watching sports. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother to Bryan (Heidi) Parks, Crystal (Scott) Horning, Stacia Carter along with great-grandchildren Andrew and Megan Horning. Surviving Mary is her husband listed above, her son Charles (Cindy) Parks, daughters Lorraine (Darrell) Carter, and Barbara (Joe Merriman Jr.) Wise; sisters Nancy Cook, and Robin Brown; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding Mary in death are her parents listed above, brother Jerry Gilliatt; sisters, Charlotte Terrell and Beverly Brunes; and son Thomas Walter Parks. Friends may visit from 10:00 am to 12:00pm on Saturday May 13, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield IN, 46140. Services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00pm at the funeral home.
