Mary L. Kraus Wells

Mary L. Kraus Wells, age 93 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Brandywine Golden Living Center in Greenfield. She was born on January 17, 1924 to the late Clarence & Nellie (Tyner) Shadley. Mary graduated from Westland High School and spent most of her career working as an administrative secretary for Kenneth F. Orr Co. and the Lineback & Lewis Law Firm. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as a past Grand Organist. Mary enjoyed watching basketball on TV, especially the Indiana Pacers & Indiana Hoosiers. She was a devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church in Greenfield where she also played the organ for almost 30 years. Surviving Mary is her daughter, Judith Turner of Greenfield; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceding Mary in death are her parents listed above; first husband of 47 years, Max Everett Kraus; second husband, Marion Wells; daughter, Suzanne Johnson; and brother, Ralph Shadley. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Faith United Methodist Church, 328 N Swope St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1:00pm at the church with Pastors Mike Hopper & Brent Smith officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
