Maurice Eugene Gene Brooks

Maurice "Gene" E. Brooks, age 71 of Greenfield passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home. He was born December 7, 1945 in Anderson, IN to the late Maurice W. and Bertha M. (Norris) Brooks. Gene served his county as a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2006 as a machinist for Fountaintown Forge. Gene enjoyed radio controlled airplanes, photography, racing and was a former race car driver. Gene is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Brooks; four sons, Kevin (Mandy) Brooks, Eric Brooks, Raymond Brown and Daniel Brown; three granddaughters which resided with him, Kristen, Alyssa and Tiara; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice & Bertha Brooks; two sons; and three daughters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm following the visitation also at the funeral home with Pastor David Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Carthage Cemetery.
