Max Eugene Helsley January 24, 1939 - February 2, 2010 Max Eugene Helsley age 71 years, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday morning February 2, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born January 24, 1939 in Greenfield and is the son of the late Forrest Jerome and Vera Delight (Richey) Helsley. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired in 2000 from Delco-Remy of Anderson. He attended Highest Praise Church in Greenfield, loved to restore cars, fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife Susan (Bray) Helsley of Greenfield; four sons, Max Anthony (Stacy) Helsley of Greenfield, Timothy Lee Helsley of Greenfield, Tracey Eugene (Kimberly) Helsley of Greenfield, Nathen Todd Helsley of Greenfield; step-son, Charles E. Kriner of Greenfield; two daughters, Darla Kay Tilley of Arizona, Sherry May Rankins of Greenfield, two brothers, Jim Helsley of Maxwell, Bobby Lee Helsley of Florida; two sisters, Nancy Helsley of Greenfield, Sally Lundy of Greenfield and 23 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters Phyllis Henderson and Lois Gray. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel in Greenfield. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Comments To Max: Bullwhips, blacksnakes and bowie knives,up and down the banks of Brandywine, " coon hunting on Blue River, swimming at st. Paul, driving old cars.We had pet foxes, owls, snakes and anything else we could catch. Even a skunk once. Had a lot of fun.
