Mercedes M. Thrasher September 29, 1920 - June 7, 2008
Mercedes M. Thrasher, 87, a resident of Portland, Tennessee, formerly of Greenfield and Indianapolis, passed away, Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Portland, Tennessee.
She was born September 29, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Albert and Catherine (Carrigan) McGuire.
She was a homemaker and cafeteria worker for IPS schools 93 and 94. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, an avid bingo player and enjoyed making ceramics.
She is survived by daughter, Theresa (Mark) Wagner of Greenfield; sons, Albert (Susan) Heredia of Merritt Island, FL, Jeff (Shirley) Heredia of Portland, TN, Gary (Hope) Heredia of Fairlawn, NJ; sister, Catherine Semanyk of Avalon, NJ; 11 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford E. Thrasher, 2006; sisters, Margaret and Charlotte McGuire; brother, John McGuire.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Father Severin Messick officiating. Friends may call Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
