Mildred C. Giddings

Mildred C. Giddings peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday afternoon, July 21, 2021, at 90 years of age. Millie was quite ready to move on, her heart was tired and gave it up. Millie was born on March 12, 1931, to Ed and Elizabeth Hodapp in Greensburg, Indiana. She graduated from Clarksburg High school in 1949 in a class of 19. Millie grew up rural and moved to town for her first job with Charles Johnston & Sons Grocery Wholesalers. She met her husband of 63 years Earl "Lucky" Giddings in Greensburg. Lucky's job with Macallister Machinery Company took them to Plymouth, Indiana where the first of 4 children, Susan, was born. Lucky was relocated to Indianapolis, and they settled in Greenfield where Sharon, Sheila and Steven were born. Lucky started his own business in 1966 and Millie worked along side him keeping the books. When all the children were in school Millie began working at the Greenfield K-Mart when it opened in 1975. She was employee number 2 and worked in the cash office until they closed in 1995. Millie then had time to work in the yard and tend to her flowers and garden. Many people will remember driving by the house on 40 and seeing her out push mowing the grass. Millie and Lucky enjoyed spending time and going to Brown County in their motor home and spending time with their dear friends, Jay, and Jessie Wilson. Millie leaves behind her devoted little wiener dog, Annie. Annie spent many an hour nestled in a chair with her "mommy" while she worked on puzzle books. Those that will miss Millie include children; Sharon (Tom) Fisher, Sheila Roland, Steven Giddings, son in law, Keith Wilson. Grandchildren; Jake (Alyse) Wilson, Justin (Brittany) Roland, Carrie Wilson, Clay (Mercedes) Roland and Nash Giddings. Great grandchildren Kolt and Henley Wilson and Caden Schulz. Those that are happy to see her again are daughter Susan Wilson, grandson Kit Snyder, sister Margaret Geis and, of course, Lucky.
