Myrtle E. "Pat" Huffman-Hall, age 97 of Greenfield, passed away, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She was born January 3, 1922 in Jennings County, Indiana to the late David and Cora (Ward) Smith. Pat was a graduate of Greenfield High School and attended Central Business College.
Pat established Greenfield Title Company, an in-house title insurance plant in November 1959 which she operated it until her retirement in 1999. She also owned The Candle Shack for several years. Pat was a member of Metro Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR). She served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Hancock County Marketing Division of MIBOR since its inception in 1962. Pat was the first President of the American Business Womens Association of Hancock County; a member of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, Hancock County Builders Association, Greenfield Chamber of Commerce, ARC, Kiwanis, Business and Professional Womens Association, the Circle of Friends Red Hat Society, Greenfield Friends Church, and Mt. Lebanon UMC.
Most will remember Pat for annual Christmas Luncheons for the courthouse employees, other business associates and friends. She enjoyed spending weekends at Sweetwater Lake and her dogs Pepper and L.J.
Pat is survived by her son, R. David (Karen) Huffman; granddaughter, Candace (David) Bush; and great grandchildren, Jordan Dicken, Logan Dicken; stepson, John Hall; step-grandchildren, Carol Belcher, Bob Hall, Johnny Hall and their families; nephews and nieces including Alice Smith who lived with the Huffman family for a period of time. A special thanks you to her caregivers, Lori Scott, Rose Adams and Becky Fields.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Hall; stepson, Richard Hall; and eight brothers and sisters.
