Nellie "Nell" A. Kimball

Nellie “Nell” Ann Kimball, 99, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born April 29, 1927, in Portland, Indiana, to the late John and Edna Berniece (Meehan) Newton.

She was a 1945 graduate of Redkey High School and later attended Indiana Business College. After completing her education, she worked in several office positions before becoming a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and spent much of her free time with family. She was also an avid quilter, completing at least 600 quilts for Project Linus that donated many of them to Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. She volunteered at Hancock Regional Hospital for 7 years and was a voracious reader who enjoyed spending time with a good book.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Bill) Muffler; son, Greg (Becky) Kimball; brother, Jerry McAbee; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three nieces and two nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harry Lee Kimball, whom she married on November 4, 1949, and her sister Elizabeth Marlene Casperson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Westfield, Indiana.
