Nelson "Dean" Runion

Nelson Dean Runion, age 82, of Greenfield passed away Wednesday June 17, 2020 at Springhurst Health Campus. He was born September 25, 1937 in Greenfield, Indiana to the late Floyd and Margaret (Richardson) Runion. Dean was a 1955 graduate of Greenfield High School. He married the love of his life Mary (Lingenfelter) Runion on January 19, 1957. Dean worked for Newcomer Lumber as a salesman for 25 years before he began repairing small engines of all kinds. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church. Dean had a passion for horses. He enjoyed trail riding in Brown County and found Quarter horses and Mustangs to be his favorites. His most loved horse of all time was Mouse. He was a member of Shelby County Western Riders as well as Indiana Trail Riders. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Rex and Dwain Runion; brother Dick (Margie) Runion, Wyneta Duncan and Becki (George) Meek; grandchildren John Runion and Rachel Runion; along with four great grandchildren. Friends may call from 4-8 on Monday June 22, 2020 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Services will be held 10 am Tuesday June 23, 2020 with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating. Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
