Nondus C. Chandler December 16, 1916 - March 26, 2008
Nondus C. Chandler, 91, a resident of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly and of natural causes at her residence, Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
She was born December 16, 1916 in Marion County to the late William E. and Merle (Tryon) Wilson.
She was a 1934 graduate of Maxwell High School where she was Valedictorian and Class Treasurer. Retired from Ft. Harrison Army Finance Center after 13 years of service, former employee and volunteer at Hancock Memorial Hospital, member of the Greenfield Christian Church and Christian Womens Fellowship, and Charter member of the Gleaners Home Club. She loved spending time with her family and cooking.
She is survived by daughters, Nicole Goodyear of Anchorage, AK, Diane E. Foster of Harlingen, TX, Anne E. (Norman) Elsbury of Greenfield, Cynthia (Brett) E. Chandler- Hester of Spring Hill, FL; son, Allan D. Chandler of Indianapolis; sister, Lois Walker of Yorktown, IN; half-brother, Brooks Wilson of Indianapolis; eleven grandchildren, David Goodyear, Jamie Cordery, Patrick Goodyear, Celeste (Kevin) Barrett, Brad (Carol) Foster, Chad Foster, Erin (Jerry) Lowder, Kathy Hall, Kenny (Lori) Elsbury, Shannon Hinshaw, and Josh Chandler; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Roberts, Shirley Logan, Dollie Baldwin; brother, Wilbur Wilson.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Greenfield Christian Church with Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Womens Fellowship of the Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
Comments Chandler family, Nondus was a wonderful friend of our family for many years. She was so thoughtful " and caring to everyone, and was always there if you needed anything. We will remember her fondly.
