Norma Whitton

Norma Whitton January 31, 1924 - May 4, 2013 Norma (Chambers) Whitton, age 89, a long time resident of Greenfield, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehab, South Bend, Indiana. She was born January 31, 1924 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Ovid G. Chambers and Marie (Western) Chambers. Norma graduated New Castle High School in 1942 and attended New Castle Business School. She worked at Harris School Cafeteria for ten years, and Hair Reflections Salon for ten years. Norma belonged to Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Charter President Lambda Iota Chapter, and American Legion Post #119 Ladies Auxiliary, Greenfield. She is survived by her son, Matthew (Judith) Whitton of Greenfield, daughter in law, Almeda Whitton of South Bend, seven grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, brother "Ovid" Bud (Betty) Chambers of New Albany, four nieces, and cousin Rosellen Allen Shore of New Castle. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, son, David Whitton, and sister, Lela Mae Chambers. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm, May 16, 2013 at South Mound Cemetery, 505 Bundy Avenue, New Castle. Indiana 47362. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Memorial donations made to American Legion Post #119 Ladies Auxiliary, 275 S.
