Norman L. Smith January 29, 1937 - February 17, 2009
Norman L. Smith, 72, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Hancock Regional Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1937 in Columbia City, IN to the late Herman and Stella Smith.
Norman retired in 1988 as a machinist with Navistar of Indianapolis. He enjoyed repairing and selling lawn mowers as well as working on small engines. He loved tractors, farming and attending auctions.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Florence K. Smith; daughters, Janet (Bill) Smallwood; Cindy (Ivan) Smith; Dawn (Steve) Loomis and Diana (Dave) Berry all of Alabama; brother, Herman (Janice) Smith of Columbia City, IN; nephew, Darwyn (Tammy) Proehl of Greenfield; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 20, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel with Pastor John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
