Oliver H. "Hut" Anthony August 24, 1927 - February 13, 2010
Oliver H. Anthony, 82, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Golden Living Center Brandywine, Greenfield, Indiana.
He was born August 24, 1927 in Collierville, Tennessee to the late Oliver S. and Jewel B. (Boales) Anthony.
Hut was a 1945 graduate of Collierville High School, 1951 graduate of Memphis State College where he obtained a bachelors degree in Credit and Financial Management, and obtained a masters degree at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948. Oliver was credit manager for Mead Packaging and Mead Container of Dayton, Ohio for 22 years. He won the national credit managers association award for most outstanding credit manager in 1969, was an avid golfer, former member of the Lions Club and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Donalene W. Anthony of Greenfield; son, Rich (Terri) Anthony of Greenfield; daughter, Cathy A. Matthews of North Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Peggy Anthony and Helen Simpson, both of Collierville, TN; six grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hutchenson Anthony in 1986 and brother, Samuel W. Anthony.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Rev. Patricia Matthews officiating. Burial will talk place at Park Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
