Patricia "Patty" Marie (Wood) Sweet

Patty Marie (Wood) Sweet, 63, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 1, 1959, in Indianapolis to Dennis and Veda (Irelan) Wood. She attended John Marshall High School in Indianapolis.

Patty was a tremendously loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Patty was the owner-operator of Patty's Hoosier Connection in Indianapolis. She also bartended at additional Indianapolis bars. Patty enjoyed taking vacations to Florida, fishing, boating, watching her brother and others drag race, keeping a tidy yard, going out to eat, and shopping. She loved orange roses as well as country music and Harley Davidson. She was a member of Central Avenue United Methodist Church.

Patty is survived by her loving husband, Rick Sweet of nearly 14 years; children, Melissa (Anthony) Nugent and Shannon (Jon) Craney; step-children, Bradley Harris-Sweet and Stormy (Vince) Huggins; 5 grandchildren: Kierstin Nugent, Hayden Craney, Haylee Craney, Hannah Huggins, and Harvey Huggins; great-granddaughter, Kourtlynn Nugent; siblings: Ricky Wood, Gale (Gary) Bridgewater, and Jeff (Stacy) Lee; many nieces and nephews; and four-legged dog friends: Bella, Layla, and Sammy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daniel Wood; and sisters, Teresa Pratt and Robin Wood.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a burial in Park Cemetery.
