Paul B. Franklin age 84, passed away Sunday June 24, 2007 the The Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis, In
Paul was born on September 27, 1922 in Avoca, Indiana to Lex and Truly (Swango) Franklin. He graduated from Indiana University with an Educator Degree. Mr. Franklin was a Principal at Westend Elementary School in Washington, IN Also was a Principal and a Curriculum Coordinator at the Junior High School in Washington. Mr. Franklin was also an Assistant Principal and Teacher at Perry Township High School in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his Wife of 62 years, Mary K. (Taylor) Franklin whom he married on October 21, 1944. One son Paul A. Franklin of Greenfield, One daughter Pam Franklin of Terre Haute. Two brothers Rex Franklin of Elkhart, William Franklin of Bloomington. Two sisters: Dorothy Perry of Harrodsburg, In, Beverly Koontz of Harrodsburg, IN.
Mr. Franklin was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church of Harrodsburg, IN. Was in the U.S. Army during WW II, was one of the original Army Rangers.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his: parents, daughter: Nancy Ann Franklin, Brothers: Darrell and Richard Franklin.
There will not be any services.

Comments Mr. Franklin was truly a wonderful person. I got to know him & his wife Mary kay while working at the lighthouse restaurant. They were a true match. I am very sorry " to hear about his passing. My prayers are with the family.

Mr. Franklin was principal at WJHS, where I substitute taught. He was a good school man and well-respected in the community. His educational leadership was " outstanding.

I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Franklin was the principal when I was transferred from Longfellow School to West End in 1965 at age 8. I always liked him, and have not " forgotten him. He was a gift to West End and Washington Junior High. He was a special man. I can remember his face from over 40 years ago.
