Pearl Irene (Elliott) Roberts

Pearl Irene (Elliott) Roberts, 72, Greenfield, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022. She was born on August 18, 1949, in Shelbyville, IN, to Harry P. and Dorothy (Jeffries) Elliott. She married James C. Roberts, Jr. on December 4, 1967. Pearl was a tremendously loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Pearl worked as a housecleaner for many years before becoming the librarian for Mount Vernon Township from 1979-1987. After the library, Pearl worked as a dietician for the Hancock County Sheriff's Office from 1987-1990. She retired a happy housewife. Pearl attended Fortville United Methodist Church, McCordsville United Methodist Church, and Brown's Chapel Wesleyan Church. Pearl and her husband were both members of Good Sam's Camping Club #72. She loved to sew and craft and have get-togethers with her lady friends' self-proclaimed neighborhood association, the Cooper's Corner's Crowd. She also loved cats and dogs. But above all, Pearl enjoyed time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Pearl is survived by her children, James (Christi) Roberts III and Janice Roberts (Dave Scheidt); 5 grandchildren: Ellie (Noah) Clark, Trenton Roberts, Emmalyn Roberts, Camden Yost, and Kinley Yost; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (George) Lockett; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, James Roberts, Jr.; and sister, Marilyn Elliott. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held the following morning at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
