Peggy J. Butler, 85 of Greenfield went to be with her Lord and Savior on the 27th day of March, 2015. She was born June 8, 1929 in Connersville, Indiana to the late Fred and Capitola (Thumb) Showalter, Jr. Peggy married Kenneth S. Butler on December 23, 1950. Together they made their home in Greenfield and raised their family. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a nurses aide at Hancock Regional Hospital retiring after 20 years of service. Peggy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and very proud of her husband and families legacy with the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen. She is survived by sons; Alan Butler, Mark ( Sue ) Butler, daughters; Pamela Whitted, Teresa ( Joe ) Helton, grandchildren; Craig Young, Hollie Zehnder, Cortney Bow, Adrian Butler, Megan Butler and 6 great grandchildren. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth S. Butler, son; Kenneth B. Butler and daughter; Kendra Jo Socco. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, March 30th at Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Services will be 10 am Tuesday at the church with Pastor Roger Kinion officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. In honor of Peggy, memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, 202 East Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
