Peter Clayton Tabor, 56, New Palestine, IN, passed away at home as loving family members stood by his side after an extremely courageous health battle. Pete was born on July 4, 1969, in Abilene, TX, to Joseph Clayton and Petra (Bibalda) Tabor. Pete obtained his bachelor's degree in business administration from Kelley School of Business. He married Brenda Ann Holifield on June 10, 1998.
Pete entered the U.S. Army shortly after graduating high school. Just shy of eight service years, he served in both the Persian Gulf and Iraq wars. He earned a defense service medal, 2 bronze stars, 2 expert marksmanship badges, in addition to other medals and awards. After completing his active military duties, Pete joined forces with the downtown Indianapolis Department of Veteran's Affairs Office, working as a ratings specialist in the benefits and administrative sector. He retired in 2009. When not working, Pete loved playing his guitar, golfing, coaching and playing baseball with both his son and grandchildren, and watching the Colts. He was an avid reader and loved to expand his mind on different topics. He always encouraged his children to seek higher education. But above all, Pete loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Holifield of 27 years; children: Zach Litteral, Mattie (Chris) Teuscher, McKinnah Tabor (Mark Green), and Brendan Tabor (Emma Poag); 4 grandchildren: Kenna Teuscher, Layton Teuscher, Berkley Teuscher, and Presley Green; 4 sisters: Charla (Michael) Kerschner, Maria (Paul) Graham, Joel (Brian) Gallagher, and Ginger Tabor; many nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Michael and Sandra Holifield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Michael Holifield.
