Phyllis Jane Carter

Phyllis "Jane" Carter, 82 years, passed away September 8, 2023, at her home in Greenfield. She was born August 8, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Thomas and Irene (Perkinson) Elrod.

Jane was a 1959 graduate of North Central High School. She worked for many departments including the Special Education Department at Greenfield Central School Corporation. Jane also worked many years as a floral designer at Penny's Flower Shop of Greenfield. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, was in the church choir, and worked for the Hancock Regional Hospital Guild.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Carter of Greenfield, daughter, Kim (Brian) Davis of Greenfield, grandchildren, Chelsey (Nicholas) Folsom, and Carter (Rhianna Hale); 4 great grandchildren, and sister, Marlene Gerlach.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; her husband, Ralph W. Carter on December 18, 2008, and, son, Chris Allen Carter.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday September 12, 2023, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday September 13, 2023 at the funeral home with Father Jerry Barney officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
