Phyllis JoAnn (Mumaw) Badger, 77, Greenfield, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 6, 1946, in Indianapolis, to Ernest W. and Dorothy I. (Fairfield) Mumaw, Sr. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis.
Phyllis was a tremendously loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Phyllis loved her family to the fullest and enjoyed every minute spent with them. She was a giver, always busy, and never a complainer. She loved to paint, attend yard sales, smoke, dance, and listen to music. Equally characteristic of Phyllis was her stubbornness and bullheadedness. Phyllis worked as a CNA for many years around the Greenfield area but retired from Regency in 2008. She was Past President of the Greenfield Eagles. She attended Greenfield First Church of the Nazarene.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children: Wayne (Rebecca) Badger, Willy (Jerry) Bundy, Joe "Yank" (Kat) Badger, and Rhonda Evans-Badger; 8 grandchildren: Ashley (Zachary) Wadley-Allen, Jennifer (Danny) Wadley-Sawyers, Michael Bowling, Tanisha Badger, Jordan (Lacey) Badger, Christy Smith (Joshua Hall), Sophia Rowlett (Joey Godsey), and Fiona "Drew" Badger; 11 great-grandchildren; special namesake niece, Phyllis "Little Phyllis" JoAnn Williams; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Lesly Losey; special daughters: Wendy Boots-Croteau and Stephanie Badger-Silvis; father to Wayne, Willy and Joe, Dale (Monica) Badger; and father to Rhonda, Ronald "Mick" Evans.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Lowell Mumaw, Ernest (Charlotte and Donna) Mumaw, Jr., David (Phyllis) Mumaw, James (Pam) Mumaw, Helen Frances Mumaw, Helen Florence (Milton) Macer, and Patty (Joe Williams and Wayne Preston) Preston; and son-in-law, Jewell Hendricks, Sr.
