Phyllis Ann Newsom October 13, 1939 - March 6, 2011 Phyllis Ann Newsom, 71, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South. She was born October 13, 1939 in Worthington, Indiana to the late Richard Newsom and Eunice (Beyers) Newsom Garsnett. Phyllis retired from Goodwill Industries after 38 years of service, and had attended Shiloh Christian Church. She had a sweet spirit and was always generous and giving. Her friends always loved her chicken and noodles at their pitch-in dinners. She enjoyed playing bingo and collecting angels. She is survived by a sister, Raetta (David) (Garsnett) Logan of Joplin, MO; brother, Donald Wayne Newsom of Indianapolis; nephews, Scott (Angie) Logan, Doug (Cindy) Logan; 3 great nephews, Max, Sam, and Aaron; 2 great nieces, Emma and Catherine; several cousins; and beloved friend, Valeria Howard of Greenfield. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Raymond Garsnett. Celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Pastor Russ Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery, Morristown. Friends may call Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
