Ralph J. Bussell

Lifelong resident of Hancock county Ralph J. Bussell, age 93, passed away October 19, 2018. Ralph was born on June 20, 1925 to the late Charles and Edna Bussell. He married the love of his life Joan Bussell on May 9, 1947 immediately following her high school graduation. They were married for 70 years and enjoyed every single minute together until her passing in July 2017. Ralph was co-owner of Charles Bussell & Son Milk Carriers from 1942-1957. He loved hauling milk and visiting with his customers. After working the milk route for 13 years, Ralph was employed at Bradley Hall Furniture until their doors closed. He then worked at Beagle Furniture until he retired in 2007. He was a member of the Irvington Seventh Day Adventist Church and former President of the Lions Club. Ralph was a hard worker, loved to stay busy and most of all loved talking with everyone who crossed his path. He never met a stranger! He was well known for riding his John Deere tractor around town and when not on his tractor could always be found "tinkering" with something in his garage workshop. He loved his family, vacationing to Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach and Gulf Shores and had a special affection for any kind of pie. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ralph will be sorely missed by his daughter Terri (Ken) Redden, sister, Norma (Robert) Rogers, grandchildren Brian Redden and Heather (Chris) Pohland, and two great-grandsons Landon and Gavin Pohland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Owens) Bussell and sister Jean Apple. Visitation will be 10 am until noon, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 12 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
