Ralph W. Carter May 12, 1939 - October 17, 2008 Ralph W. Carter age 69 years, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Friday evening October 17, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield. He was born May 12, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Willis C. and Helen (Mattingly) Carter. Ralph was a graduate of Cathedral High School and Indiana University. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. He retired in January 2008 from Royal Pin Leisure Centers as Controller after 23 years of employment and also worked for Bruner & Co. for 17 years as Controller. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Jane (Elrod) Carter of Greenfield whom he married on December 2, 1961, daughter, Kim (Chris) Phillips of Greenfield, son, Kevin Carter of Greenfield, sisters, Patricia (David) Allison of Mooresville, Linda (Ollie) Matthews of Indianapolis and Teresa Slaughter of Indianapolis, and grandchildren Chelsey Carver and Carter Phillips. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m.Tuesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Severin Messick, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis with military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be sent to Cathedral High School or the American Cancer Society. Comments Jane, " My prayers are with you and your family.
