Ray Edward Gibbs, age 85 of Greenfield passed away at his home March 7, 2021. He was born September 21, 1935 in Grassy Creek, Kentucky to the late Jim and Anna Myrtle (Gevedon) Gibbs.
Prior to his retirement, Ray worked in the trucking industry for Crown Laundry and Barber Cabinets. Ray was an avid vegetable gardener and was known by many as the "tomato man". He enjoyed U.K. Basketball, bowling, fishing, and anything outdoors. Ray could be found most mornings at the West Main Street Hardee's with his friends, "The Hardee Boys" enjoying breakfast and coffee. He was avid church goer and a long-time member of the First United Evangelical Church.
Ray is survived by his children, Bryan Keith (Debbie) Gibbs, Kimberly (Doug) Criswell, Regina (Lester) Jackson; grandchildren, Christopher (Tori) Gibbs, Joshua Criswell, Joey Criswell, Justin Criswell, Briana (Kyle) Addison and Chad Jackson; and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above and brothers, Vincent, James, and Elbert Gibbs.
Friends may call 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Funeral service 10:00 am, Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
