Raymond E. "Ray" Davis May 17, 1925 - April 15, 2011 Raymond E. "Ray" Davis, 85, a resident of Franklin, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at Johnson County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 17, 1925 in Indianapolis and was the son of the late Ruby (Wise) McKain and Harry A. Davis. Ray was a graduate of Tech High School, served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked for Bessire, Weather King, Ted Brooks Associates, Duncan Supply and Bordons Milk and Ice Cream. He was Past Master of the Greenfield Masonic Lodge #101 F. & A.M., life member, past president, served as "R" in the Central Florida chapter of ASHRAE, 35 + year member of RSES, after retirement he instructed courses in Florida and Indiana. Ray was a former Boy Scout leader, member of the Greenfield Christian Church and Greenfield American Legion Post #119. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy L. (Craig) Davis of Franklin; sons, Leo (Karen) Davis of Greenfield, Ken (Gladys) Davis of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Linda (Jim) Davis of Greenfield; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Davis. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenfield Christian Church. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Stanley officiating and military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 4-8 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with a Masonic Lodge service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Comments Ray will be missed. Great instructor and had many years of great refrigeration and air conditioning knowledge. " To a brother in RSES rest in peace!
