Raymond H. Kemper November 7, 1928 - June 18, 2008
Raymond H. Kemper, 79, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Jun 18, 2008 at the Ruth Lilly Hospice at Methodist Hospital. He was born November 7, 1928 in Shelby County to the late Forrest and Edith (Heck) Kemper. Mr. Kemper served our country in the Marine Corp. during the Korean War, was a policeman with the Greenfield Police Department for 20 years, worked for Levi-Strauss for 13 years, was a member of the Brandywine Community Church, Charter Member, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 140, former member of the American Legion Post 119 and volunteered at Hancock Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Driffill) Kemper of Greenfield whom he married August 17, 1950; son, Kenneth Ray Kemper of Greenfield; sisters, Mary Alice Jackman of Fairland, Laura Ann Browand of Gainesboro, TN; brother, Robert Kemper of Greenfield; and grandchildren Justin Steven and Kimberly Danielle Kemper of Chino Hills, CA and Kyle Ray Kemper of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by sons, Steven Kemper and Robert Eugene Kemper. At Mr. Kempers request the visitation and services will be private. Final resting place will be Asbury Cemetery, Morristown.
