Rebecca Jane Reece March 12, 1944 - December 6, 2014 Rebecca Jane Reece, 70, formally of Knightstown, IN passed away December 6, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV. Rebecca was born to the late Virgil Lee and Trudy Vera (Wright) Welsh on March 12, 1944. She graduated from Knightstown High School in 1962 and went on to earn her Masters Degree from Ball State University in 1965. She married Larry Cooper Reece July 15, 1966 in Knightstown. Rebecca was a Home Economics Teacher at Fort Wayne Community HS Carroll High School before retiring in 1995. After retirement she worked at Ethel M Chocolates and as a consultant at Davids Bridal. Rebecca loved food contest and was a participant of many. She competed in the Cornbread Contest in 2004; two cake baking contests in 2008; in 2010 she took home second place in the Build a Better Burger Contest in Napa Valley; and in 2011 she took home the gold in the Walmart Sponsored Dibs on Ribs contest in Arkansas. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Larry Cooper Reece; her daughters, Jane Margaret (Jeff) Lichtsinn of Ft. Wayne, IN, Ann Marie (Adam) Jones of Geneva, IL; brother, Stephen (Nanette) Welsh of Spiceland, IN; sisters Jan (George) Brown of Knightstown; Sister-in- law, Sue Welsh; grandchildren, Kelsey Lichtsinn, Emily (Austin) Kindig, Landon Jones, and Jacob Jones; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Welsh. A public visitation will be held for Rebecca on Saturday December 13, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday December 13, 2014, with burial to follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Memorial donations may be made to The Lustgarton Foundation at 1111 Stewart Ave, Bethpage, NY 11714, in honor of Rebeccas fight with pancreatic cancer.
