Richard H Gerrish

Richard H. Gerrish December 24, 1925 - April 15, 2008 Richard H. Gerrish, 82 of Greenfield passed away April 15, 2008 at Major Hospital. After high school Richard joined the Army serving in Germany until his discharge in 1951. In 1951 Mr Gerrish joined National Life Insurance Company based in Indianapolis where he held many positions during his career spanning 29 years, retiring in 1980. Richard was an avid card player and sports enthusiast. In his later years he enjoyed playing cards several times a week at the Hancock County Senior Center. Mr. Gerrish is survived by his former wife, Joan L. Gerrish of Greenfield, daughters Susan (Fred) Strong and Kathy (Bennie) House both of Greenfield, Sons; Michael ( Sue) Gerrish of Indianapolis and Kevin (CLovia) Gerrish of Forth Worth, TX, and Brothers, Courtney Gerrish of Chicago and Robert Gerrish of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by Sister Patricia Anderson of Indianapolis. Services will be 11:30 AM , Friday , April 18, 2008 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home ~ Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main St, Greenfield. Friends may call Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brandywine Community Church Building Fund or the Hancock County Senior Center.
