Richard M Holmes Sr

Richard M. Holmes, Sr., age 68, of Greenfield passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his home. He was born February 25, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Richmond M. and Margaret (Medlin) Holmes. He 2-stepped his way into the heart of Doris (Smith) Holmes, and they were married on July 27, 1979. Prior to his retirement Richard owned and operated R. Holmes & Sons Construction. He was a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family. He loved to dance, ride horses, old cars and blue grass music. Richard attended Brandywine Community Church. Richard is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Jerry (Tiffany) Smith, Richard Holmes, Jr., Kristie (Troy) Cross, Anna (Dale) Whitaker, Melissa Waterman, Cory Holmes; siblings, Larry Holmes, Kenneth Holmes, Louise Fisher, Lisa (Molly) Waldrop, Rita Sitzes; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Holmes; sister, Shelly Fisher; and grandsons, Travis Whitaker and Cory Cross.
