Richard Dickie Meek

June 9, 1943 — February 19, 2016

Richard (Dickie) Meek 72 years, a resident of Greenfield passed away Friday February 19, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield. He was born June 9, 1943 in Greenfield to the late, Lester and Irene (Matheson) Meek. Dickie served in US Marine Corp until 1965, worked in the Heating and Cooling and was known as a "Jack of all trades". We lost our Dad and who will be greatly missed. He wasnt an average Dad that said kind words and I love you. He was simple when it came to that kind of feeling he had for you, if he liked you then he gave you a hard time and you were a "ok" in his book. He was a good friend to many and a great papaw to his grandkids and great-grand kids. Our dad liked to play Euchre, Bingo, drink beer and aggravate everyone (that was his way of showing love). He was our guy that knew it all he always had the answer (wrong or right) he loved to talk about his family and what they were doing daily. I dont think he ever realized how much he would be missed. He can rest easy now and visit with his other family and friends till we see him again. Forever loved by your family. He is survived by sons, Darrin (Lisa) Kinder, Mark Meek, Neil (Melissa) Meek, daughter, Fawn (Jim) Minchin, Richalle "Ro" (Richie) Turner all of Greenfield, grandchildren, Dustin, Kendra, Meagen, Nikki, Michael, Adam, Cassy, Jordan, Jake, Danielle, Neil Jr. Paige, Hannah, Payton, Chelsea, Erin, Courtney, Shelby, Sadi, Braydon, Mollie May, great-grandchildren, Kalob, Aiden, Hayden, Liam, Kayla, Braxton, Dolan, Conner, Will, Jameson, Paige, Chase, his and our great friend Jerry Davis of Greenfield, brothers, Marvin, Paul, Junior, Sisters, MaryKay, Burtie, Sissy, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jerry, Kenny, daughter, Dawn and grandson Michael. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery, Philadelphia, Ind. After his service the family will be having a celebration of life at the FOP in greenfield.
