Richard Manly Pickett November 8, 1922 - July 9, 2007 Richard Manly Pickett age 84 passed away July 9, 2007 at the Veterans Home in West Lafayette Indiana. He was born November 8, 1922 in Greenfield to the late Roy W. Pickett and Marie (Hughes) Pickett. Richard graduated from Greenfield High School in 1940 and went 2 years to Butler University. He was a member of the Elks Club of Greenfield, Hancock Masonic Lodge #101, Greenfield Country Club, Brandywine Yacht Club, Lions Club, and was on the Hancock County Council. He also was a 32 year Volunteer with the Greenfield Fire Department. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield. He was also a Veteran of the US Navy. Richard was the Owner and Operator of Picketts Hardware of Greenfield which was established in 1923. Richard is survived by his daughter: Ann Ott of Greenfield, Daughter-In-Law, Lynn (Lane) Pickett of Greenfield, Sister, Barbara Pickett-Walters, 2 Step Children. And 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his First Wife: Mary Ann (Strawmyer) Pickett who passed away January 1, 1984, Second Wife: Lola (Chapman-Lane) Pickett passed away May 5, 2005, his parents, and Son: Philip Pickett who passed away in 2002, Funeral Services will be Saturday July 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, with Pastor John Davis officiating. Friends may call Friday July 13, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At the funeral home, there will be a Masonic Service at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery Greenfield, Memorial donations can be made to The Greenfield Fire Department or Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation.
