Riley Charles Settergren

Riley Charles Settergren, age 17 of Wilkinson, IN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He was born on December 31, 1999 in Indianapolis to John "Jay" & Tammy (Bossung) Settergren. Riley was a rising senior student at Eastern Hancock High School, participating; lettering; and setting records in Football; Track; Wrestling; and formerly basketball. He was a parishioner and was recently confirmed into the St. Rose Catholic Church in May of 2017. Riley was heavily active in 4-H for nearly 10 years, and at a young age enjoyed working on his grandpa Bossungs farm; their family farm; and enjoyed helping neighboring farmers. Riley was known for his love of playing Xbox; and drinking Mountain Dew. He will be forever known as an excellent student; teammate; leader and great friend who could put a smile on anybodys face. Surviving Riley are his parents Jay and Tammy; brothers, Chase Matthew Settergren; who considered Riley to be his best friend and role model; John "Jay" (Kelly) Settergren III, of Anthem, AZ; step-brother; Tyler (LeighAnn) Wine of Fayetteville, NC; maternal grandmother; Shirley Bossung of Lafayette; paternal grandmother, Sharon Settergren of Scottsdale, AZ; uncle, Darrel (aunt Stephanie) Bossung of Lafayette; uncle, Patrick (aunt Tina) Settergren of New Palestine; aunt, Amy (uncle Michael) Rosenberger of Scottsdale; AZ; cousins, Corbin; Katie; Carson; Della; Kayli; Marissa ; and Michael. Preceding Riley in death are his paternal grandfather, John J. Settergren Sr.; and maternal grandfather; Charles R. Bossung. Friends may visit from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Eastern Hancock High School Gymnasium; 10320 250N, Charlottesville, IN 46117. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 31, 2017 in the high school gymnasium with Fr. John Hall presiding. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Memorial contributions in memory of Riley may be sent to the Eastern Hancock High School; Designate: Football Program; envelopes will be available at the school. Stillinger Family Funeral Home in Greenfield has been entrusted with arrangements and is honored to serve the Settergren family.
