Robert E. Lacey October 6, 1941 - July 25, 2009
Robert E. Lacey, 67 a lifetime resident of Greenfield passed away Saturday evening, July 25, 2009 in Greenfield. Bob was born October 6, 1941 in Indianapolis to Edith A. (Roberts) Lacey and the late David W. Lacey. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1959 and attended Ball State University. Bob worked for Eli Lilly retiring in 2001 and was a member of Greenfield Christian Church.
Bob was very service and community oriented and gave of himself to many organizations over the years. He was an avid Greenfield Central sports fan, a long time member of the football "chain gang", a charter member of Cougar Backers and at one time was the original Greenfield Tiger mascot. He was a member of Hancock FA&M 101 Masonic lodge, Hancock County Shiners and the Scottish Rite. In his early years he was a lifeguard at Riley Pool in Greenfield.
Bob is survived by his mother; Edith Lacey of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his father; David Lacey in 1974 and sister; Jo Ann Lacey in 1962.
Services will be held 2:00p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 No. East Street, Greenfield with Pastor John Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Friends may call Tuesday, July 28th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Bob was married for a short time to our mother, Judy Jenkins. Mother has sent went home to Jesus several years ago. We have thought about Bob often. I am so sorry " for your loss.
