Robert Dean Nigh March 23, 1923 - November 18, 2007
Robert D. Nigh passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007. He was born March 23, 1923 to Claude H. and June (Fry) Nigh.
Robert graduated from Shortridge High School in 1941 and became a track star, ran the 440 in his freshman year and went to the state finals with the varsity team. Robert began his banking career with Central State Bank as an assistant cashier and a member of the board. He then worked for Fidelity Bank and Trust, American Fletcher National Bank, and Bank One where he rose to Branch Manager and Assistant Vice-President, retiring after 48 years.
He was a member of the Indiana Bankers Associations 40 Year Club and the Bank One 20 Year Club. He was a Mason, member of the Blue Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and the Murat Shrine.
Robert is survived by his son, Brett D. (Denise) Nigh; granddaughters, Morgan and Courtney Nigh; brothers, Gifford H. Nigh and William L. Nigh; many nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita F. Nigh and his daughter, Caprice S. Nigh.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2007 at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, 8151 Allisonville Rd Indianapolis, In 46250. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle Chicago, IL 60674.
