Roberta Pauline (Beyers) Ward was called home to be with God on February 26, 2019 at Greenfield Healthcare Center. She was born February 12, 1935 in Monroe County, Indiana. Roberta graduated from Greenfield High School in 1953. She met Paul Richard Ward in October 1957 and they married on February 15, 1959. On February 15, 2019 Paul and Roberta celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Roberta was an active member of Shiloh Christian Church where she enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She also attended Northside Christian Church and Park Chapel Christian Church. While snow birding in Florida 1999-2015 she attended First Christian Church in Arcadia, FL and enjoyed playing the organ there. Roberta worked for Fort Harrison. While Paul served in the Army at Fort Hood she was employed at Fort Hood and returned to work for Naval Avionics upon Pauls discharge. She retired from the Greenfield Central School System in 1995.
She is survived by her husband Paul of Greenfield; daughter Natalie (Jerry) Schneider; grandson, Joshua Schneider; step brother-in-law, Ron (Diane) Hoppes and families; step sister-in-law Sue (Mick) McCollum and families and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Daphne Beyers; step sister-in-law, Kennetha Grimm.
Friends may call 4-8 pm, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main St., Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service with Fred Girdwood and Ron York officiating, 10 am, Friday, March 1st at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
