Ronald W. Combs

Ronald (Ron) W. Combs, age 87 of Greenfield, Indiana, formerly of Orlando, Florida, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born July 9, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William M. and Alberta B. (Brunswick) Combs. He married his sweetheart, Marjorie Martin, on August 28, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH. Ron received his bachelor's degree in business from Miami of Ohio University and went on to achieve his CPA. He retired from General Tire & Rubber Company after 20 years as the corporate controller. After retiring and moving to Florida he began his own tax accounting firm, the Ronald W. Combs Tax and Accounting Service. Ron was a member of First Christian Church of Winter Park and attended Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield. He used the gift God gave him with numbers by serving as the treasurer of the Orlando church. Ronald also served as treasurer for the Alexander Christian Foundation in Florida for many years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, cribbage and working puzzles with his family. He loved going to amusement parks with his children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed the roller coasters. He was also a Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed going to the games. Ron's gift of love, sacrifice, giving, and humor will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Martin) Combs; children, Bob (Karen) Combs, Dave (Susanna) Combs and Saundra (Bobby) Sheets; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27th from 4:00-5:00pm at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 East McKenzie Road, Greenfield, IN, with Celebration of Life immediately following the visitation at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Ronald may be sent to Hancock Suburban Hospice, 801 N. State Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140, or Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 East McKenzie, Greenfield, Indiana 46140.
