Ronald Potter October 18, 1936 - November 10, 2013
Ronald E. Potter, 77, went home with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Ronald was born October 18, 1936 to Everette and Sarah (Stanley) Potter in Payne Gap, Kentucky. After graduating high school in 1955 and moving to Indianapolis, he began working for RCA. He was the first to go through the electricians apprenticeship they developed. He was employed there for 18 years. In 1972 he was employed at International Harvester where he worked for 23 years. He served in the United States Army from 1960 1963. December 26, 1966 he married Doris E. Bentley and to this union were born three children; Beverley, Patricia and Christopher. Ronald was raised to Master Mason at the Englewood Lodge in 1968 and transferred his membership to the Eden Lodge in December 1999. Since October of 1981 he has been a member of Eden Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Ronald was a member of the Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church from 1969 where he was a Sunday school teacher, song leader, trustee and treasurer until March 2011. He has attended Browns Chapel since April 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maryann Young and Jeannette Potter. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Doris, children; Beverley Erwin, Patricia Sexton and Christopher (Sara) Potter; brother, Bert (Regina) Potter; four grandchildren and one expected grandchild and one great grandchild. Friends may call Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Browns Chapel, 994 N 600 E, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. There will be a Masonic and Eastern Star service at Graveside. Funeral service will be held 10 am, Friday, November 15, 2013 at Browns Chapel with Pastor Steve Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
