Rowland "Archie" Clarence Gorman, 92, passed away on February 20, 2024 at Brandywine Care Center, in Greenfield, Indiana. Rowland was born on December 6, 1931, in Knightstown, Indiana, to Alonzo and Mary Gorman. He was one of seven children.
Rowland attended Knightstown High School, but moved to California where he completed high school in Grossman, California. He later served in the United States Navy. On May 31, 1953, Rowland married Carol "Hawkins" Gorman, and to that union, three children were born. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master of his jurisdiction. After becoming a Master Mason, he joined the York Rites. Rowland was an accomplished artist and enjoyed creating artwork and oil paintings.
Rowland leaves to Cherish his memory, his daughter, Lovii (Nigam) Arora, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild and one daughter-in-law, Rosalie Gorman.
He was preceded by his wife, Carol, son, Michael Gorman, daughter, Melinda J. Gorman, five brothers, Lawrence, Gerald, Lowell, James, and Kenneth, and one sister, Mary Flores.
A Celebration of Rowland's life will be held on March 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home 1780 W. Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140, with a visitation at 11:00 a.m.
