Roxann "Roxi" Amburgey Hawkins, 62,
went to meet Jesus face-to-face on Friday Dec. 17, 2021.
Roxi was born to Fannie and MC Amburgey on Aug. 30, 1959, in Columbus, OH.
She met the love of her life, Robert Hawkins, at Mt. Zion Tabernacle in Greenfield, IN and
was married on Sept. 5, 1976.
A lifelong member of Faith Apostolic Church (formerly Mt Zion), she assisted in many areas of the ministry including Sunday School Teacher and Church Treasurer.
With only a High School Education and two novice computer night classes, Roxi excelled from an entry level position with Trilithic, an electronics engineering and manufacturing co. She spent many nights over books and tutorials, educating herself and fighting for the opportunity to prove herself. She achieved her goals and held the following positions with the company; Clerical Engineering, Manufacturing Support Specialist, Engineering Administrator, Buyer, and Purchased Material Inspector.
Roxi enjoyed working on her flowerbeds, paintings, and refurbishing furniture. Giving the paintings and furniture to the ones she made them for brought her the most joy. Her world revolved around Faith, Family, and Friends.
Roxi is survived by her husband of 45 yrs, Robert Hawkins; mother, Fannie Cole; brother, Tony (Sherry)Amburgey; sisters, Cindi Krell, Veda (Jim) Smith, and Donna (Mike) Miles; sons, Nate (Jo) and Brian (Marissa) Hawkins; grandchildren, Nichole (Bert), Eliza (Cage), Jesse, Austin, Corbin, and Brianna; great-grandson, Gracin Carter.
She was preceded in death by her father, MC Amburgey; step-father, Joseph Cole; sister, Janie Miles.
