Ruby Ellen (Chapman) Morris March 24, 1945 - November 24, 2009 Ruby Ellen (Chapman) Morris, 64, a resident of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. She was born March 24, 1945 in Terre Haute, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Rev. Raymond and Ruby Ethel (Crowder) Chapman. Ruby was a 1963 graduate of Greenfield High School, obtained her Bachelors degree in education from Indiana University and her Masters from Indiana State University. She retired from Doe Creek Middle School after 31 years of teaching. She was an avid book writer, loved music, dancing and singing. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and enjoyed having breakfast once a month with other retired teachers. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Benny Morris of Fortville; son, Matthew (Sarah Cooper) Morris of Greenfield; brothers, Raymond (Dona) Chapman of Hickory, NC, Marion (Michelle) Chapman of Cannelton, IN; sister, Ramona (Bill) Williams of Greenfield; nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Rev. Wade Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Friday, November 27, 2009 at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service.
